Cos\u00ec scriveva Arbie Orenstein nella prefazione alla prima edizione dell'opera <em>S\u00e9r\u00e9nade grotesque<\/em>, pubblicato da Salabert nel 1975 in occasione del centenario della nascita di Ravel. L'eminente studioso di Ravel, la cui monografia sul grande compositore \u00e8 ancora probabilmente la misura di tutte le cose, non fu solo lo scopritore dell'autografo, che era stato a lungo considerato perduto. Ne organizz\u00f2 anche la prima nello stesso anno.<\/p>\n<p>Cinquant'anni dopo, Andreas Pernpeintner ha ripubblicato il breve pezzo per pianoforte con Henle. Le differenze rispetto alla prima edizione francese sono minime. Nella prefazione di Pernpeintner, tuttavia, apprendiamo alcuni dettagli affascinanti su come Ravel stesso giudic\u00f2 questo lavoro, che aveva scritto quasi da adolescente. Pare che non l'abbia mai tenuta completamente sotto chiave.<\/p>\n<p>Il <em>S\u00e9r\u00e9nade grotesque<\/em> \u00e8 caratterizzato da forti contrasti tra passaggi percussivi (\u00abtr\u00e8s rude, pizzicatissimo\u00bb) da un lato e cantilene pi\u00f9 lunghe (\u00abtr\u00e8s sentimental\u00bb) dall'altro. I numerosi echi della musica chitarristica spagnola non sono l'unico elemento che rende il ben pi\u00f9 famoso <em>Alborada del gracioso<\/em> dal <em>Miroirs<\/em> (Arbie Orenstein si \u00e8 sentita come se stesse <em>Scarbo <\/em>ricorda). Come in questi capolavori successivi, anche qui la scrittura pianistica \u00e8 caratterizzata da associazioni orchestrali. Sebbene non sia eccessivamente impegnativo, il <em>S\u00e9r\u00e9nade <\/em>ha le sue insidie pianistiche. Per superare questi ostacoli nel modo pi\u00f9 elegante possibile, il pianista francese C\u00e9dric Tiberghien ha contribuito con alcune diteggiature davvero molto pratiche.<\/p>\n<p>Nel complesso, una nuova edizione degna di nota! Per i fan di Ravel, in ogni caso.
