Brevi schemi vengono ripetuti quasi all'infinito - la frequenza esatta \u00e8 determinata dagli esecutori stessi - in modo che la sovrapposizione dei vari frammenti melodici crei un trambusto simile a un ammasso.<\/p>\n<p>La difficolt\u00e0, ma anche il fascino del brano, risiede nei minimi spostamenti di fase: Un impercettibile accelerando di una voce \"recupera\" molto lentamente prima una, poi forse un'altra croma. Gli schemi tonali che ne derivano si confondono temporaneamente fino a quando la chitarra e il nastro o le quattro chitarre si ritrovano di nuovo nello stesso metro.<\/p>\n<p>Le dettagliate istruzioni per l'esecuzione dell'edizione originale del 1967 sono state adattate alla chitarra, ma non \u00e8 del tutto chiaro da chi. Sebbene siano firmate con il nome di Steve Reich, non sono datate. Reich ha partecipato alla pubblicazione degli spartiti per chitarra o no?
