Contiene dieci brani su progressioni di accordi comuni (blues, anatole\/turnaround), standard (<em>Doxy, e allora?<\/em> ...), ma anche una bossa nova, una batucada, un pezzo modale con echi \"celtici\" che ricordano Jan Garbarek, ecc. Il primo pezzo, formalmente piuttosto impegnativo e basato su scale ioniche alternate, \u00e8 un po' ingombrante. Tuttavia, questo non deve dissuadere dall'immergersi ulteriormente, poich\u00e9 gli altri temi sono orecchiabili e sostenuti da un'ottima sezione ritmica: i due autori, Andr\u00e9 Charlier e Beno\u00eet Sourisse, completati da Jean-Michel Charbonnel al basso.<\/p>\n<p>Il concetto non \u00e8 nuovo, ma \u00e8 ottimamente realizzato con una buona notazione. Per ogni brano, gli autori forniscono alcune precise spiegazioni (in quattro lingue) sull'improvvisazione, che danno agli allievi suggerimenti sulle condizioni stilistiche e armoniche. I tempi sono moderati, gli assoli annotati non troppo difficili - prima che St\u00e9phane Guillaume al sax tenore mostri come suonerebbe se questa non fosse una pubblicazione didattica. Nove brani tradizionali e quattro nuove composizioni musicalmente equivalenti dell'editore Michael L\u00f6sch aspettano di essere scoperti da allievi entusiasti di livello intermedio o superiore. La qualit\u00e0 degli arrangiamenti \u00e8 sottolineata dal fatto che la seconda parte \u00e8 altrettanto interessante della prima sotto ogni aspetto. A volte \u00e8 una linea di basso vivace e ritmica, altre una voce parallela inferiore o superiore, ma mai in un registro che possa ostacolare la vivacit\u00e0 della musica. Fortunatamente, questo vale anche per la parte aggiunta del sax tenore. Il fraseggio \u00e8 annotato con precisione, le chiavi sono semplici, la gamma \u00e8 confortevole e il CD di accompagnamento fornisce fino a tre tempi diversi, consentendo di suonare i brani a diversi livelli tecnici. Lo sfondo armonico dei brani \u00e8 costituito da noti standard jazz da un lato e da forme blues arricchite da citazioni dall'altro.<\/p>\n<p>Il suono del sassofono sul CD \u00e8 leggero e un po' sottotono, la sezione ritmica senza batteria non \u00e8 forte, ma precisa e facile da capire.
