La francese, che vive a Weggis, non \u00e8 cos\u00ec facile da capire. Lo si pu\u00f2 sperimentare in modo impressionante nelle sei registrazioni in CD pubblicate da Erato e Teldec tra il 1996 e il 2001 e ora ristampate in cofanetto da Warner Classics. Ha lo zampino solistico per la corposa scrittura pianistica di Brahms nel primo concerto per pianoforte e orchestra, ma anche una mano raffinata per gli intermezzi lirici e malinconici dell'ultimo lavoro. \u00c8 un'artista espressiva e al tempo stesso strutturalista. Evita gli estremi senza diventare noiosa. A volte, come nella Sonata per pianoforte op. 109 di Beethoven, si potrebbe desiderare un uso un po' pi\u00f9 discreto del pedale, perch\u00e9 vengono oscurate alcune cose che si sarebbero volute sentire con maggiore precisione. Nella registrazione del 1995, la Grimaud si dimostra una maestra della caratterizzazione, dando a ciascuna delle variazioni del finale \"piene di canto, con il sentimento pi\u00f9 sentito\" una nota molto speciale, un tono individuale. Nella Sonata in la maggiore op. 110, non si attiene pedissequamente al testo musicale del Moderato, non suonando il punto culminante della frase come uno sforzato, come da nota, ma ritirandosi nel pianoforte, ottenendo cos\u00ec un effetto speciale. Si prende queste piccole libert\u00e0 anche nel Concerto per pianoforte e orchestra di Schumann con la Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin diretta da David Zinman, ma questo non fa che rendere l'interazione ancora pi\u00f9 emozionante. La Grimaud mostra anche una flessibilit\u00e0 agogica nel Secondo Concerto per pianoforte e orchestra di Rachmaninov (Philharmonia Orchestra\/Vladimir Ashkenazy), senza perdere se stessa nel processo. Nei brani solistici, come il Preludio in sol minore, dimostra di essere una grande narratrice.<\/p>\n<p>Per quanto riguarda le orchestre, anche le registrazioni in studio sono di ottima qualit\u00e0. Solo la registrazione dal vivo del Primo Concerto per pianoforte e orchestra di Brahms con la Staatskapelle Berlin diretta da Kurt Sanderling manca di precisione nell'interplay e di un esatto equilibrio tonale. H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Grimaud mostra un volto diverso con i concerti per pianoforte di Gershwin (Fa maggiore) e Ravel (Sol maggiore). Con un tocco quasi percussivo, fa vibrare le capacit\u00e0 motorie.
