La scoperta \u00e8 stata confermata da Jean-Jacques Eigeldinger, professore emerito dell'Universit\u00e0 di Ginevra e riconosciuto esperto di Chopin. Lo strumento si trovava nell'appartamento di Chopin in Square d'Orl\u00e9ans a Parigi tra il dicembre 1844 e il giugno 1845. Chopin vi dava lezioni di pianoforte. La Sonata per violoncello e pianoforte op. 65 fu certamente composta su questo strumento.<\/p>\n<p>Sono noti cinque pianoforti a coda Pleyel utilizzati da Chopin. Si trovano nei musei di Maiorca, Parigi, Stoccolma, Cracovia e Varsavia. Nove anni fa, Eigeldinger ha scoperto un altro pianoforte a coda nella collezione Alec Cobbe in Inghilterra. Il pianoforte a coda scoperto da Alain Kohler ha il vantaggio di avere il meccanismo originale ben conservato.
